HOW IT WORKS

There is a lot to consider when designing interior of a property, and I don’t pretend to be able to do it all. If you’d like to work with me, you’ll first have to reach out for a consult to discuss how we can work together.

During our consultation, you will have the opportunity to share photos of the space and discuss your vision and needs with me to see if I’m the right person to help you with the project. In some cases, depending on the scope of work needed and my availability, I may only be able to help you with a certain number of rooms and spaces at a time.

Once we decide to move forward, the project will be divided into 4 steps:

HAND-OFF

Each phase includes one meeting and one round. Any additional rounds are billed separately. There is an initial deposit due at kickoff and then the remaining balance is billed at hand-off. In general, the total design investment is based on 20% of total spend, plus an hourly fee of $125 for additional work that’s requested beyond the scope. There may be certain project that require more upfront work which is also quoted and billed separately. The final deliverables will not be provided until the final payment is made. I then use my background in branding and graphic design to create mockups of the different rooms in your home, to better visualize the design in the space. You will have the option of adding a round of design if you need revisions. I create a purchase list with the items you will need to buy to achieve the look of the final design. I will make a round of adjustments to the purchase list and design based on your feedback, and unless you need to add any additional rounds of revisions, that’s it! My background in design.

I grew up in a household of architects. My mother, father, grandmother and grandfather were all architects and they instilled in me a great passion for design. In 2013, I graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Communications Design, and started my career as a branding designer in New York City, working for a firm called CBX.

After a few years of working in the corporate branding world designing for Fortune 500 companies, I decided to move out of New York and start my own remote branding agency with my twin sister, who still runs it to this day. The branding agency is called HIYO DESIGN.

During that time, I discovered the power of Airbnb and started renting out my room in New York while I traveled. I saw Airbnb’s great potential, and have never stopped hosting since.

Over the years I’ve hosted guests in New York, Miami, Puerto Rico, and California. I’ve rented private bedrooms and whole homes, for short-term, mid-term, and long-term stays. I’ve also had the pleasure of furnishing and decorating all of those rentals (sometimes by myself, and other times with the help of professionally trained interior designers).
